Keio University Mita Campus in 1951: The Birth of Noguchi Room
It is Yoshiro Taniguchi who was entrusted with the restoration plan of Mita campus which was damaged by WWII.
Isamu Noguchi came to Japan, a sculptor who was the same age as Taniguchi and had a relationship to Keio UniversityーーAn encounter of the two artists gave birth to a architectual space.
Last year, the exhibition "Noguchi Room Revisited" was held. It focused on the establishing period of the space which has been called "Noguchi Room" for a long time in the University.
This year, taking the archievement and the related survey of the exhibition, we hold a symposium and think about the problem between the architecture and the record & memory.
