私にとって土方巽は舞踏の父であり大野一雄は舞踏の母です。
東京生まれの私が、舞踏を求めて東北に暮らし、半世紀以上過ぎました。土方巽先生との出会いがきっかけでした。

Lecturer/Performer
Dancer: Yuko Yuki
YUKI met Hijikata Tatsumi for the first time in 1970. She took part in the foundation of Dai-Rakudakan in 1972. In 1975, she formed the Hoppo-butoh-ha with Bishop Yamada at the foot of Dewa-sanzan in Yamagata, where she pursued Hijikata’s Butoh, which held high demands of both mind and body, trying to make use of the northeastern climate and culture in her dance. She appeared in “Taka Zashiki” (1985) directed by Hijikata and “Ezomen” (1992) directed by Bishop Yamada. She was recognized as a Butoh dancer who could express the mind peculiar to the north Japan inhabitants. Since 1993, she has lived in Tsugaru, Aomori to create works expressing the spirit and culture of Jomon.
